I mentioned the Viltrox 56mm f1.7 because it’s one of those modern, affordable primes that makes a lot of sense for portraits. The only issue is on my X-Pro1 the rear command dial is dead, so lenses without a dedicated aperture ring don’t play nicely with how I need to shoot.

- +Affordable portrait-friendly prime option
- +Pairs well with compact Fuji setups in general
Cons
- -Not ideal on an X-Pro1 if your rear command dial has failed
- -No dedicated aperture ring, so usability depends on camera controls
