We only had about 5 hours in Colonia del Sacramento, so I’m showing you how to make the most of a short visit—what to do, what to eat, and the spots that are actually worth prioritizing when you’re on a tight timeline. Colonia is a UNESCO World Heritage town and it really does feel like you’re stepping into a different pace compared to Buenos Aires—cobblestone streets, historic corners, and that charming, slow-travel vibe. I share a simple explore-and-wander game plan, quick history context so you know what you’re looking at, and my personal recommendations for where to stop for food. If you’re already in BA and want a low-effort international day trip, this is one of my favorite ways to “check off” Uruguay without needing to plan a whole separate vacation.
