Some of these “ANC” budget models barely muffle the world, and I call that out directly. At the bottom of the list, the Vonaural and Amazon Basics options show the classic budget tradeoffs: weak or hissy ANC, cheap-feeling builds, and sound that’s either muddy or flat. Then things get interesting: the TAGRY H08 surprised me with legit subway-ready noise reduction, punchy sound, and battery life that basically kills battery anxiety. ZINGBIRD U8 is my “forget to charge” pick with insane endurance and a fun bass-heavy tuning, plus strong office ANC. Near the top, JBL’s Tune 770NC delivers balanced detail and a companion app with a real EQ, plus an ambient aware mode that’s genuinely useful. The bmani H2 absolutely blew me away with premium comfort, wide immersive staging, aggressive ANC, and ridiculous 5-minute charging. And at number one, Sony’s WH-CH720N brings the V1 processor, top-tier ANC for the price, and shockingly good audio with DSEE upscaling and excellent call quality.
