Happy Valentine’s Day…I think. In this video I do what I do every year: I go outside, romanticize my life just enough to feel like a person again, and then absolutely unpack my thoughts on Valentine’s Day. I take myself on a solo picnic adventure (because if I’m gonna spiral, it might as well be in the sun with snacks) and I talk through why this holiday can feel weirdly performative, oddly stressful, and sometimes just…loud. It’s very much a “talking to my camera like it’s my therapist” situation. I get into dating, sexuality, and that whole security thing that shows up when everyone’s posting couples content and you’re left comparing your life to a highlight reel. I revisit my opinions on romance and what I actually want versus what I think I’m supposed to want, and I try to be honest about the messy middle of figuring yourself out in college. The takeaway is basically: you’re not behind, you’re not broken, and you don’t need a relationship to have a soft, main-character day. Sometimes the most romantic thing you can do is choose yourself and let it be enough.
