NotebookLM can now make videos, but this latest update adds a twist that changes the whole workflow. In this video I show you exactly how the new Video Overview setup works, and why it gives you way more say in how your videos look and feel without adding extra complexity. I start by showing how I upload and manage sources (Google Drive, URLs, YouTube links, or pasted text), because NotebookLM will only pull from the sources you’ve checked inside that notebook. Then I walk through the new creative controls: you can choose a video format (Brief vs Explainer), pick your language, and select a visual style (classic, whiteboard, anime, watercolor, retro print, heritage, and more). I also show how the prompt box is where you “steer” the AI—like asking it to focus on flow state and keep the tone upbeat, inspiring, and optimistic. Finally, I demo results across different styles, including a custom style where I describe the look (like a minimalist samurai guide) and tell it what concepts to use.
