In this episode we take a trip up to Michigan's upper peninsula to climb at Carney Crag located outside the town of Iron Mountain. The crag is relatively new and based on available information, seems to have started being developed about 2 years ago. Already there are lots of anchors bolted for top rope and trad routes in addition to 6 fully bolted sport routes. The rock is a white quartzite and there is plenty of potential for the crag and surrounding areas to be further developed. Currently the bolted routes are all low grade routes and this would make an excellent place to hone sport climbing skills for a new leader. If you do make it here, be sure to check out "snake charmer". This was a truly fantastic climb and hopefully there will soon be more like it.
