About This Video

Have you ever noticed how good monitors are either crazy expensive or just plain bad? In this video, I tested the Innocn 27D1Q — a 27-inch QHD IPS monitor with USB-C support, 100% sRGB coverage, and a smooth 100Hz refresh rate that can cost less than some monitor arms. I’ll be real: when it first showed up, I wasn’t expecting much because the packaging and branding didn’t scream premium. But once I got it on my desk, it surprised me with a simple, clean look, thin bezels on three sides, and a build that feels solid (even if the stand is a little plasticky). I break down the stuff that actually matters in day-to-day use: the USB-C connection with 65W power delivery for a true one-cable MacBook setup, plus HDMI, DisplayPort, and a 3.5mm audio out. For the display, 1440p at 27 inches is that sweet spot for productivity — sharp enough to feel like a real upgrade from 1080p, with enough screen real estate to multitask without going ultrawide. After about three weeks of editing, emails, and way too many Chrome tabs, the 100Hz refresh rate felt noticeably smoother than 60Hz. I also keep it honest about the downsides: the OSD menu isn’t intuitive, and the built-in speakers aren’t great. But for under $200, the visuals and everyday performance are the real win here.
