I have been itching to get back into the water after being out for almost 2 months. I headed to one of my favorite spots with some dive buddies. The spot we dove and other spots next to it were very busy since conditions hadn't been very good in some time. We were hoping for some White Sea Bass (WSB) action but with so many divers in the water, those hopes very minimized quickly, as WSB spook very easily. Despite not catching any fish I had a great time out on the water. Unfortunately when we returned to shore we saw a huge carcass of a Giant Sea Bass (aka Black Sea Bass). It looked to have been filleted with the cheek meat cut out. These are protected in California and can not be kept.
