Diving Kelp

Had the privilege to take out Ryan Hollingshead on his first shore dive. I was hoping visibility would be good for this dive, since the days leading up to the dive surf, winds, and current looked to be tame. Unfortunately the visibility was not as great as I had expected mainly due to lots of material in the water. In the mix of particulate in the water were tons of Salp. Despite the lower visibility conditions we powered through the dense kelp and got a couple dives in. Outside of the Salp everywhere, the marine life was pretty baren this day. Nevertheless, any day out on the water is a great day and I am glad I got to be a part of Ryan's spearfishing journey.
