Photoshop now allows you to automatically expand your image's background with the CROP tool! Take a look at how it is done in this video. Using the Crop tool, you can choose Fill • Default or now, Fill • Content Aware Fill. Content Aware Fill will automatically expand the edges of your image to fill the new size/format you have chosen with your crop tool. This allows cropping to become a generative process!
