Identity Affirming Homes: Embedding Anti-bias Practices in Our Parenting with Dr. Traci Baxley

Affirmation is essential across the lifespan, especially as young children explore the world around them with curiosity and wonder. Research has shown that parenting can significantly affect children's positive outlook on their lives, mental health, and self-esteem. In this presentation, Dr. Baxley will explore practices that impact our children's development and how we, as parents, can be more intentional in creating spaces that affirm them. Finally, the presentation will offer ways to model anti-bias practices at home to support children's understanding and affirming of others.
