In this video I talk about the Oracle layoffs and why so many people panic every time a big company fires employees. I don’t understand the fear, because layoffs are part of corporate life. Tech jobs are not government jobs—there is no lifetime guarantee. Corporate companies are profit-driven, and hiring/firing is just “optimization”: if a role is not relevant or not making money, they will remove it. I also explain what’s really happening behind these layoffs: companies restructure, shift priorities (right now a lot of them are moving hard toward AI), and they need funds to invest in infrastructure. That’s why they cut positions. The reality is you don’t need hundreds of thousands of people to run everything anymore—small teams and smart people can do a lot, and AI agents are changing the pattern even more. My key message is simple: your skills are your job security. If your work is replaceable, you must upskill, bring more value, and think logically instead of wasting time on layoff news cycles.
