Special Reports Television (with Joan Lunden) was designed specifically for distribution on one format: Laserdisc. In your doctor's office was a home theater unit with a TV, a hidden laserdisc player and a rack for brochures which aligned with the recorded material. Monthly or quarterly, the pediatrician would receive a new laserdisc to pop into the player for viewing by waiting room guests.
