DadsTalkTECH – Episode 24 - Comica BoomX-U2 Dual Wireless Microphone Real-World Test

This episode puts the Comica BoomX-U2 dual wireless kit through its paces. There is no unboxing, there are lots of them out there, but rather we used the system outdoors in a couple different scenarios. Our "Journey" even makes a brief stop in the 80's! We literally get Keith to do the legwork and put over 300 feet of distance between us while using one of the transmitters and included lavalier microphones. Does it perform as advertised? We’ll answer that question in this episode. The kit does come with a nice carrying case to keep all the needed components to have two people mic’d-up wirelessly to a smartphone or camera. The kit has the audio cables to make the connections needed, including 3.5mm to XLR cable. The kit has two lavalier microphones that have a locking mechanism to make a secure connection to the transmitter. The receiver has a cold shoe connection to mount on top of your camera if you like. The transmitters also have an integrated microphone so you can use it without attaching a separate mic. There are even tiny dead cat wind muffs for the integrated mics. The units have 6 hours of stated battery life and come with the necessary USB-C charging cable, but no charging unit. However, the USB-C to USB type A cable is fairly universal so most people have what they need to charge all three units included in the kit – (2) transmitters and (1) receiver.
