Cutting and shaping a knife blank is a super exciting part of knife making. It's when you get to feel your knife design for the first time in a steel form. In this video, I'm talking about how to transfer your design to the steel, roughing out the shape on a bandsaw (or angle grinder), refining it on a belt grinder and drilling the holes for the handle pins (aka - 'hardware'). A shout out to Steve Reza at Knife Makers Mastery Podcast for the pro tip on drill bit sizes to match the pins you're going to be using (which I talk about around half way through. That little nugget of gold couldn't have come sooner! @reza_knives www.knifemakersmastery.com Love the process. And get out there and make!
