About This Video

In this video, I’m talking about one of the weirdest things I keep seeing in my comments: people acting like curly hair only counts if it’s long. I react to that mindset and remind you (loudly) that your curls don’t need to be long to be beautiful. Whether you’ve got 4C hair, 3C hair, or anything in between, cutting your hair doesn’t take away your beauty—and having long hair doesn’t automatically add to it either. And let’s be real… a lot of the time my hair “looks” short because shrinkage is doing what shrinkage does. I also get into the bigger issue behind those comments: if you’re not happy right now, longer hair isn’t going to magically fix that. I’m all for loving long hair (who doesn’t?), but I’m even more for embracing who you are right now—because that’s where the real confidence starts. I talk about priorities, self-love, and why we need to stop basing our worth on outward appearance, especially when we’re all going to age anyway. And before anyone starts dragging the person who commented—don’t. Hate doesn’t fix hate. Rant over. Peace out.
