About This Video

I’ve been seeing TikTok say Cantu is “bad” for curly hair, so in this video I flipped the script and looked at both sides—because I actually use Cantu and I haven’t personally had hair loss from it. I talk about why people think it causes shedding (hello, buildup), why some curls love it, and why other curl types feel like it’s way too heavy or even drying. And yes, I address the whole “does Cantu make your hair fall out?” conversation with real comments and my honest experience. I also get into what matters more than the brand name: your hair type, how often you use the product, and whether you’re clarifying your scalp. I’m 3B/3C, and for me Cantu can be a winner—especially the Curl Activator Cream and certain stylers—but I’m not pretending it’s perfect for everyone. My biggest takeaway: try it once, watch your scalp (itching/flakes is a sign), and if you’re using heavy products, you need to clarify or you’ll end up with buildup that can mess with your results.
