Delegation in action: stronger teams, better patient care

The North East rehab team at Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership has transformed patient care by investing in their support workforce, embedding teamwork, and developing strong delegation practices. By putting effective delegation into action, they’ve been able to reduce waiting times and improve outcomes for patients. Delegation is more than task-sharing. It’s about building trust, responsibility, and accountability across the whole team. In this video, we explain what delegation means in practice, how registered practitioners can allocate tasks to competent support workers and why delegation strengthens teamwork and patient care.
