The CSP is instructing all physiotherapists to immediately stop using platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy with their patients. This new advice follows discussions with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), who have now confirmed to CSP that PRP is classed as a medicinal product in the UK. In this video Ash James, CSP director of practise and development, explains details of the legal and regulatory framework and urges all CSP members to immediately cease preparing, injecting or utilising PRP therapy with their patients.
