Creators! YouTube Analytics now has new, casual, and regular viewer metrics! NEW: Hasn’t watched your channel in the selected time period CASUAL: Watched at least once a month, 1-5 out of the last 12 months REGULAR: Watched at least once a month, 6+ out of the last 12 months (These replace the old “Returning” metric but you can still find that in Advanced analytics if you really want it!) Watching means an engaged view on a Short, long-form, live, or podcast, the data goes back to March 17, 2025, and your channel needs to have been around long enough, and posted frequently enough, for the data to be there ofc. And if your regular viewers are lower than expected… that’s to be expected! Even if you get similar views across your videos, that doesn’t mean it’s the same people watching. It can often be very different people watching. It’s not unusual for regular viewers to be a tiny percentage of total viewers. That’s exactly what the new metrics are meant to help creators understand and strategize around! Any questions, let me know!
