GitHub Pages can be great for basic static hosting, but it feels behind compared to Cloudflare Pages. I ran into annoying friction with HTTPS and the overall multi-site setup is more complicated than it needs to be. The biggest built-in advantage is native Jekyll support if that’s your workflow.

Pros

+Free static hosting with a solid network
+Native support for Jekyll
+Works well if your site already lives in GitHub

Cons

-Static-only (no native serverless functions)
-Free accounts require public repos
-HTTPS can be janky unless you enforce HTTPS
-One github.io subdomain per account makes multiple sites awkward
