The session explored the necessity of a new color space to accommodate the increasing dynamic range of modern digital cameras, particularly ARRI LogC4, while maintaining the intuitive grading behavior colorists expect. Dado demonstrated how JPLog2 solves key grading challenges, including better highlight retention, improved shadow control, and seamless integration with ACES workflows. The stream featured live demonstrations, Q&A with Josh Pines, and discussions on its applications across film, TV, and VFX. JPLog2's release, complete with DCTLs and LUTs, marks a major step toward industry-wide adoption of a more robust and flexible grading workflow.
