Today we're going to make the 1800's classic Martinez cocktail, historically considered "A manhattan with gin." Bartender Starter Kit: https://awesomedrinks.com/products/home-bartender-starter-kit/ We're going to build out a Martinez, it's a Manhattan with gin, dating to the 1800s. This may use your favorite gin, if you want to make it more historically accurate try Old Tom Gin or Genever to see what the old folks would have been using. The Martinez 1 1/2 oz Gin 1 1/2 oz Sweet Vermouth 1/4 oz Luxardo Maraschino 2 dashes Angostura Bitters Orange Peel The taste profile definitely brings in some vermouth flavor as well as a gin taste up front, the gin will impact the taste of course. In our tasting, with Barr Hill Gin, it's got a bit of a touch of honey to the flavor profile. 0:00 Introduction 0:32 Recipe breakdown 4:42 The Pour 5:10 The tasting 6:33 Cocktail history #gin #cocktail #recipe ------ Become a Youtube CMC Member: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCm4_NTvhixXU3YFetu8z-aA/join Checkout our recipe E-Books: http://homecocktailmenu.com Subscribe to CMC Now: http://bit.ly/NKFUkE Drink Responsibly.
