About This Video

In this video, I take you guys with me on Qualifying Day 1 of the Philippine National Open 2025 at Sta. Lucia Bowling Center. It’s a Saturday start, and before we even hit the lanes, I share some really good news: I got bumped up in the Pasig Bowling Association rankings, which meant I ended up fully sponsored for the PNO registration. I honestly see that as God’s favor—especially since we just spent money the day before fixing and getting two new balls ready, and I’m still not 100% dialed in with them yet. I also break down my game plan for a longer sport pattern (PNO is 45ft), including why I expected to need stronger equipment or even urethane, and how I tried to apply concepts like the rule of 31 and playing straighter angles. I brought pieces like the Storm Lock It (lightly sanded), the Gem Pearl, “The Road,” and even a Purple Hammer urethane—yes, outside my usual Storm lineup, but it is what it is. After Day 1, I share what actually worked: the pearls (The Road and Gem Pearl) gave me the best look, while the Purple Hammer wasn’t for the fresh and the sanded solid was just too strong midlane. I finished with 179, 172, and 186 for a 537 scratch series, met some awesome Philippine team bowlers, and as always—God is in control. See you guys on the lanes.
