About This Video

In this off-the-lanes episode, I break down my current bowling arsenal and why each piece is in my bag. Right now I’m running a four-ball setup, starting with a dedicated spare ball (my Motive Arctic Sniper). I talk about why I still recommend a plastic spare ball for newbies, but also why my Arctic Sniper is a little unique since it has a urethane cover and hooks just a bit on the backend—enough to help me feel safe on corner pins. Then I go through my fresh-condition pieces like my Storm Lock It and Storm Phaze II, and I explain why I’m letting the Phaze II go since it’s starting to feel redundant with the Lock It. I also share why the Roto Grip Gem Pearl has become one of my most-used balls—longer through the fronts, then a strong cut into the pocket—and what I felt was missing when that Gem Pearl gets too violent downlane. I originally wanted an IQ Tour AI (and even looked at the IQ 78/U urethane), but I had to be practical financially, so I rolled the dice on secondhand. By God’s plan, that “one ball” turned into two: a used Storm The Road (my dry-to-medium option) and a surprise Purple Hammer urethane. I end the video with Proverbs 3:5-6 because this whole purchase reminded me to trust the Lord, be patient, and let Him direct the path—especially as I prep for upcoming open tournaments.
