About This Video

In this video I joined the King and Queen of Elanes tournament, and it was extra special because I got to bowl in the same event with one of our subscribers—now a First Strike Academy student—Sly Sylvester. He originally messaged me months back, and when he finally came to the Philippines, he booked 12 coaching sessions with us. What hit me the most was his reason: he said he chose First Strike Academy because he saw in my videos that I’m putting Jesus first. That encouraged me a lot to keep going, keep coaching, and keep sharing what God is doing in our lives. On the lanes, my plan was to keep my arsenal simple—Gem Pearl and Storm The Road—so I wouldn’t overthink it. We started decent (170+ then around 220), stayed hot with a 211, then the lanes got tricky as the transition changed and I missed some makeables. Later we finally got to bowl alongside each other, but the last two games didn’t go our way because the center played different depending on the side—one side colder with new AC and slower transition, the other side hotter and changing faster. I finished 9th and Sly finished 12th out of 30+ bowlers, and my big takeaway is simple: read the transition better and bring a stronger ball when the corner disappears.
