An information interview is simply a meeting with someone who can give you some great career and job-search advice - and done well, in a very specific way, can lead to that person becoming your ally, advocate, or mentor. They may offer to pass along your resume to a hiring manager, tell you about jobs before they get advertised, make wonderful introductions, or give you insights you can weave into your applications.
