About This Video

In this video I’m talking directly to my former VIPKid teachers (and really any online ESL teachers) who are coming over to Outschool and wondering, “Okay… what do I need to know?” I walk through the mindset shift from teaching a set curriculum to building your own classes, and what that means for planning, marketing, and showing up confidently on camera. Outschool is a different world than VIPKid, but it can be such a good fit when you understand how the platform works and what families are actually looking for. I also share the practical next steps I recommend if you’re brand new: start with a simple class idea, think through your lesson flow, and don’t overcomplicate it. That’s why I created my Think-Through Guide to Creating Outschool Classes—so you don’t feel stuck staring at a blank screen. If you want support beyond this video, I also point you to my Outschool Teacher Village group where we do weekly coaching and Q&A so you can get feedback, encouragement, and help as you build momentum.
