If you’ve ever finished the slides early and felt that awkward “now what?” moment, this is for you. Parents are watching for teachers who keep their child engaged, use the full class time well, and make the lesson feel personalized—not rushed. I walk through how I think about a lesson extension as a planned “extra layer” that still matches the objective. That might look like adding more speaking opportunities, quick review games, extra examples, or a mini challenge that uses the target vocabulary and sentence frames. The goal is to keep it meaningful (not just filler) and to help the student feel successful. When you consistently do this, it shows up in your five-apple feedback because parents see confidence, pacing, and great classroom management—and that’s exactly what helps bring those bookings up over time.
