About This Video

In this video, I’m sharing my best Outschool classroom management tips to keep students engaged so your classes feel effective and fun (not exhausting). When you’re teaching online, engagement is your classroom management—so I walk through how I think about pacing, expectations, and the little routines that help learners feel safe, seen, and ready to participate. I also talk about why confidence matters so much as the teacher, because your energy sets the tone for the whole class. I focus on practical ways to guide behavior while still keeping things upbeat: setting clear norms at the start, building in interaction on purpose, and using simple structures that prevent issues before they start. If you’re newer to Outschool (or you’re approved and trying to refine your teaching style), this is meant to encourage you and give you a plan you can actually use. And if you want extra support as you build or improve your classes, I share my free Think-Through Guide to Creating Outschool Classes and ways to connect with me and my teacher community.
