When you’re teaching online, engagement is your classroom management—so I walk through how I think about pacing, expectations, and the little routines that help learners feel safe, seen, and ready to participate. I also talk about why confidence matters so much as the teacher, because your energy sets the tone for the whole class. I focus on practical ways to guide behavior while still keeping things upbeat: setting clear norms at the start, building in interaction on purpose, and using simple structures that prevent issues before they start.
