Learn how to easily add animated weapons or any other objects to your rigged character's hand in Adobe Animate! This tutorial is part of a series that shows you how to design a character, rig it with bones, and animate it. In this video, you will discover the steps to overcome a common rigging issue where an object or hand might move behind the character's head. The tutorial demonstrates how to use the free transform tool and keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl + Up Arrow) to bring different parts of your character's body, like the arm and hand, to the front. You'll also learn how to: Enter a character's hand symbol to work on it individually. Create different states for the hand, such as an empty hand and a hand holding a sword, using keyframes. Import and resize an object like a sword to fit perfectly in the character's hand. Transform the hand into a fist shape by adjusting anchor points to make it look like it's holding the object. Control which frame of the hand symbol is displayed using the looping section and frame picker. Animate the character and the object together, creating movements like a sword twirl. This technique allows you to add or remove a sword (or any other object) from your character whenever you need to.
