In this video (#228), I’m trying my hand at mixed media wall art, and I’m telling you… it turned out amazing. I took the resin crow I made earlier (video #208) and mounted it right onto a canvas, then I started building the scene around it with all my favorite “bits and bobs.” This is one of those projects where you don’t have to know every step before you start—you just keep layering, adjusting, and letting the piece tell you what it needs. I walk you through how I pulled the crow into a finished wall piece by mixing textures and elements until it felt balanced and intentional. If you’ve been wanting to use resin pieces in a more “artsy” way (not just trays and molds), this is a great example of how to do it. My biggest takeaway: don’t be afraid to experiment, and don’t overthink the first layer—mixed media is forgiving, and it’s a fun way to use resin creations in a whole new format.
