This is my first official episode of my studying abroad in South Korea diaries, and it’s basically a little “welcome to my new life” February reset. I’m taking you through my first 24 hours in Seoul (aka the slightly surreal, slightly sleepy part where everything feels like a movie), plus a cozy hotel tour while I’m still getting my bearings. It’s very much me easing into Korean life in real time—figuring out the vibe, the pace, and what it feels like to be here for more than just a quick trip. After that, we do the fun stuff: Gangnam shopping and cafe hopping, with a little haul moment because I can’t pretend I didn’t buy things. I also talk about platonic soulmates (because yes, I’m emotional and reflective even when I’m just walking around the city), and we end with Chinese New Year spent with my host family, which was genuinely grounding and sweet.
