About This Video

In this video I’m sharing my full 6-week experience with The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA, and how it worked on both my new and old post-acne marks. I break down what alpha arbutin actually is (a skin-lightening agent derived from hydroquinone) and how it helps fade hyperpigmentation by decreasing melanin production. I also talk about the texture because I know that matters—this serum is super watery compared to The Ordinary Niacinamide or Hyaluronic Acid, it’s not sticky at all, and it absorbs within seconds. I used it every single night for six weeks, and I used it mainly as a spot treatment only where I had pigmentation and post-acne scars (you can use it all over your face too). I share my before & after, plus my honest results: it worked really well and faster on my fresh/new acne marks (I noticed visible lightening within about two weeks), especially around my mouth area after a recent breakout. For older marks (1–2 months+), I did see some lightening, but not a huge drastic difference in just six weeks—hyperpigmentation needs time and consistency. My biggest takeaway: be patient, stay consistent, and please don’t skip sunscreen if you want any brightening serum to actually work.
