Today I finally unbox my new iPhone 15 Pro and walk you through the exact thought process I used to pick the finish. I usually go black, but this year I was genuinely torn between Natural Titanium and Black Titanium—so I waited until I could see both in person at the Apple Store. What pushed me over the edge was what I noticed on the black models: a lot of them had visible scratches on the back from MagSafe chargers, and that wasn’t really the case with Natural Titanium. I also don’t love how dust shows up around the camera area, and the lighter gray camera module on Natural Titanium hides it better. I went with the iPhone 15 Pro (not the Pro Max) because I use my phone one-handed and the Max is simply too big for me—and I honestly don’t care about the 5x zoom enough to compromise on size. After that, I share the best premium case alternatives I found now that Apple has stopped making leather cases. I’m not interested in throwing a $10 case on a $1,000 device, so I’m only recommending cases I’d actually use: Mujjo’s brown leather case, Native Union’s plant-based Classic Case, BandWerk’s tougher Performance Leather Case, and Native Union’s clear anti-yellowing case. If you want one “do-it-all” pick, the Native Union Classic Case still hits my personal sweet spot—but the Mujjo is incredibly tempting this year.
