Barwon Investment Partners (Barwon), along with Specialist Disability Accommodation and SACARE are pleased to announce the opening of 14 disability compliant apartments at 9 Brown Terrace, Salisbury - a complex that will transform the lives of people living with a disability. These state-of-the-art homes will ensure people with high physical needs can live comfortably and build strong community networks with fellow residents. It is the largest project of its kind in South Australia and aims to raise the standard for those living with a disability, who too often are left with little choice and sub-standard options. Tom Patrick, Head of Healthcare Property at Barwon said, “It has been fantastic to partner with Specialist Disability Accommodation to fund this project which has the primary goal of providing modern and functional homes for people living with a disability. Barwon is pleased that the development is complete, and residents will be moving in from February 2023.” The complex boasts 14 x 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom SDA apartments designed to meet High Physical Support Housing Design requirements. It’s approximately 20 km north of Adelaide’s CBD and is around the corner from local shopping facilities, amenities, medical services and public transport corridors. Managing Director of Specialist Disability Accommodation, Sam Tucker, is thrilled be delivering a new standard in disability accommodation in South Australia and says, “The company hopes to keep building on its vision to improve the standard of living for some of our society’s most vulnerable people. Specialist Disability Accommodation’s ultimate goal is to ensure residents are happy and healthy in the accommodation in which they are living. Assistive technology that features throughout these apartments will ensure residents are safe, secure and can live a happy and independent life. The project has been well received by the community and has had strong demand from prospective residents and we are thrilled to be partnering with SACARE – one of South Australia’s leading disability care providers.” Barwon is proud to note this development not only meets the investment objectives of its investors but is also a true reflection of its commitment to its ESG goals. Across the portfolio of properties within the healthcare property funds, Barwon has progress well in its environmental initiatives and notes it is pleased to be investing client capital in such a capacity to deliver strong social outcomes for the community.
