Rather than buying a Niche or a DF64, I converted my 10 year old Mazzer Mini for home brewing. Mazzers are workhorses, commercial grade and can pump hundreds of cups without breaking a sweat and surely I couldn't let mine go to waste. #BREWDOL #Mazzer #Mazzermods #CoffeePH #SpecialtyCoffee ---LINKS--- Taiwanese Mazzer Mini Mod: http://home-doserless.com/product/mazzer-mini-doserless-mod 3D Print designs including Mazzers: https://www.thingiverse.com/ Decouverte for 2nd hand Mazzers: http://decouverte.ph/ Coffee Home Brewers FB Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/coffeehomebrewers/ ---SOCIAL MEDIA--- Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/babescoffeeph/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/babescoffeeph/ If you read this far, it would be a huge deal for me if you like, share and subscribe! :)

About This Video

In this video, I walk you through how I converted my 10+ year old Mazzer Mini from a doser grinder into a more home-friendly “doserless” single-dose setup. I’ve always been happy with my Mazzer—grind consistency is solid and the shots are great—but the commercial design comes with one big headache at home: retention. If you’re only grinding 20–40g at a time, a lot of coffee gets stuck in the doser, and I got tired of brushing and spooning grounds out just to fill my portafilter. Instead of dropping DF64 money (around 20k pesos) or Niche Zero money (around 50k pesos here in the Philippines), I looked for alternatives. I found two routes: a Taiwanese-made doserless mod (more premium, but around 8k–10k pesos with shipping), or a budget 3D-printed route using files from Thingiverse. I went the 3D-print path and also repainted my grinder flat black (because yes, I like my coffee gear nuke black), keeping costs way down. I test the setup by grinding 20g and checking retention—realistically, I still see about 3–5g even with bellows, so I won’t pretend it “beats” a Niche or DF64. But for me, retention is significantly reduced, the workflow is better, and it’s a fun restoration project if you already have a Mazzer Mini sitting at home (or can score one secondhand).
