About This Video

If ads are popping up on your Android by themselves—even on the home screen—you’ve almost certainly installed adware. In this video I show you how to remove an Android “virus” without downloading any extra apps or paying for an antivirus. We’re only using built-in settings, and in most cases this fixes it fast. First, I walk you through finding the suspicious app: something you don’t remember installing, often disguised as a RAM cleaner, flashlight app, or a random free game (especially if it came from outside the Play Store). Then I check its permissions—because if a “flashlight” wants contacts, location, and notifications, that’s a red flag. The big giveaway is “Display over other apps” (Appear on top), which is exactly how those full-screen ads happen, so I show you where to disable it. After that, I clear cache and data, uninstall the app, and if uninstall is blocked, I revoke its device admin rights first. I also clean up Chrome browsing data and finish with a Play Protect scan—Google’s built-in protection that’s already on your phone and catches most malicious apps.
