About This Video

In this video, I show you 3 hidden Google settings on Android that I strongly recommend disabling right now. If you care about mobile privacy and security, these options are basically a quiet “parasite” running in the background: they increase tracking, boost background activity, and they can even make your battery drain faster. The goal here is simple—lock down your phone in a few minutes and stop giving away extra data for no real benefit. First, I walk you through how to find the Google settings (Settings → Google → All services), then we go straight into the Privacy & Security section. I disable “Usage & diagnostics” because, honestly, it’s useless for normal users and it just collects what you do and sends it off for analysis. Next, I open “General data personalization” and turn off everything—because the whole point is to use your device data to “improve recommendations,” which really means better targeting and more annoying ads. Finally, I go into Ads, reset the Advertising ID, and then delete/disable it completely. You’ll typically see fewer ads (around 50% less), and they’ll be more random—which is way better than ultra-relevant targeted ads.
