In this vlog I’m taking you behind the glam on a real travel day as an international makeup artist—packing up my kit, doing last-minute prep, and flying from Canada into the U.S. for a bridal booking. I start the day doing my at-home waxing routine (yes, on a budget), then I hop into skincare because my face was looking ashy as heck. I also show you my travel packing situation (mixed luggage and all) and bring you with me from the drive to the border to the airport and finally arriving safely—thank God for travel mercy. I also get real about what’s been going on with my makeup business. Losing my studio space had me feeling all over the place, and as a service provider it can be so hard not to get in your head. But I’m sharing where I’m at: trying to find my rhythm again, being grateful people still trust me for their big days, and learning to let go of control and trust God’s timing and direction. Once I’m in Iowa City, I’m suddenly dress shopping because I found out last minute I’m attending the wedding too. Then it’s an early call time (2 a.m.!) to head to the bride and glam the full wedding party. The bride loved her makeup, the day went amazing, and I’m just grateful I get to travel and do what I love.
