Exercise: Am I Numbing My Emotions? Next time you feel the urge to eat, drink, vape, sex, or take any action that may lead to an overall negative result, bring some awareness to your body by closing your eyes and taking a deep breath. In your head or out loud, explain to yourself how the vibration in your body feels and bring awareness to where it is vibrating specifically. Name the emotion. Do this awareness exercise for 1 FULL MINUTE and the urge will get much weaker and may even pass completely. Practice this exercise regularly to unlearn unwanted behaviors.
