If you hate that plugged-in feeling, this open-ear style feels way more natural straight away, and it also cuts down on that “hearing stress” and pressure build-up you can get with in-ear buds. The Essential model looks and feels more sporty than Raycon’s everyday open-ear option, and the fit method is simple: hook it over your ear, place the little speaker near your ear, then wiggle it into the sweet spot. The big question with open-ear is always sound. You’re not getting that sealed-in, thumping bass (that’s just physics), but I was genuinely impressed with how Raycon balanced it—clean, crisp sound, solid mids, and decent bass presence for vocals and everyday listening. In quieter spots like a park or while editing at home, they sound really nice; outdoors with traffic and wind you’ll lose some bass, but you can still follow your playlist and stay aware of what’s happening around you. Battery life is another strong point: about 8 hours in the earbuds plus around 40 more in the case. In real life that meant I could charge once and get multiple days of workouts and walks without thinking about it, and they stayed put the whole time—no constant readjusting.
