The ROG Xbox Ally X has been my go-to handheld because I’ve been playing more AAA games while traveling. Battlefield 6 runs surprisingly well for me, and the whole Xbox full-screen experience has gotten smoother over time. It’s not perfect—there are still bugs—but it feels like it keeps improving.
Pros
- +Solid AAA performance for a handheld (ex: ~50 fps in Battlefield 6 at 1080p medium, 25W)
- +120 Hz gameplay support when games allow it
- +Sleep mode and fingerprint wake work well for a Windows handheld
- +Feels like an Xbox controller with a screen
Cons
- -Battery drains fast in best performance/turbo modes
- -Still has UI/software bugs from time to time
