About This Video

We spent a week in Puerto Rico for spring break with our four kids, and in this video I walk you through exactly how we planned it—where we stayed, what we did each day, and the little things that made it work with a big family. I’m sharing our real 1-week family itinerary with stops in Old San Juan, El Yunque National Forest, Rincon, Moca, and Cabo Rojo, plus the honest “this is what I’d do again” tips I learned along the way. I also break down how we made this trip more budget-friendly by booking flights and hotels on points. We flew Southwest using my Companion Pass, and we stayed at the Hyatt Place San Juan on points (I transferred Chase points to Hyatt). From there we explored Old San Juan (including El Moro), did a half-day in El Yunque, grabbed lunch at the Luquillo kiosks, and built in downtime at the pool—because kids need that break. Then we road-tripped to the west coast and stayed at a super remote Airbnb near Moca/Rincon (private pool, hammocks, totally worth it), beach-hopped with rip tide warnings in mind, and did an early Cabo Rojo day trip for the views. We wrapped it up with one last Old San Juan snack stop and a simple airport hotel night before our early flight home.
