OpenAI just released their new Agent Builder, and after building hundreds of AI agents in tools like n8n, Make, and Zapier, I wanted to review it, talk about where it sits in the market, and build a live agent with you. The big takeaway: this is not “just another automation builder.” It’s built around a cleaner, more structured way to build, deploy, and optimize real-time chat agents—especially when you actually want to publish something for public use. In the video I walk through OpenAI’s Agent Kit: building inside the Agent Builder canvas, deploying via Chatkit (embed a chat widget on your site) or the Agents SDK, and then optimizing with evaluations, trace grading, datasets, and optimizers. I also show the actual nodes you get—like File Search for instant RAG with vector stores, and Guardrails for blocking sensitive info, jailbreak attempts, prompt injection, and more before anything hits the model. Then I build a simple but powerful “YouTube Questionbot” that answers questions using my YouTube transcripts only (with citations). I also add a second vector store for another creator and make the agent ask which knowledge base to use—showing how fast you can get something useful with basically two nodes and a couple tools.
