In this video, I sat down with two of my girls—Kichi (@KelechiIbeleche) and Phoebe (@thephoebeway)—to gist properly about getting hired in 2025 in Germany/Europe, especially with all the election wahala and people wondering, “Is the job market still safe for immigrants?” We broke it down: CDU is still focused on strengthening the workforce, and immigrants are still needed. So if you’re a skilled worker (or you’re willing to become one), things are not as bleak as social media panic makes it look. We also talked about what actually moves the needle for getting hired: German language (yes, again), cultural fit, internships/real experience (not only theory), and knowing what’s in demand. Kichi also touched negotiation—if you know your worth, charge it—but if you’re entering fresh, sometimes you start first, gain experience, then level up. I added my own take on trends like AI/ChatGPT: even if you’re not an AI engineer, showing how you use AI to optimize your work can make you look current and efficient.
