What AdamDARKLORD says

my name is Adam and I'm an artist of Northern Wisconsin welcome to my new YouTube studio so I took some time off I took about two months off from filming videos and I actually I moved into a new YouTube studio and believe it or not this YouTube studio is actually an office trailer I bought an office trailer I cleaned it up I redid everything I I redid the outside of it I redid the inside of it and I moved it to my tattoo studio so if I'm not tattooing I can come out to the backyard to the office trailer and I can film videos for you guys I still got a lot of things I got to do on this office trailer but when it's all done I will take you guys on a little tour and I'll show you everything and with that said in the past two months I've turned down all product offers and all tattoo machines and stuff that companies wanted to send me I turned down and companies only make so much new technology per year typically at the beginning of the year and the end of the year the first quarter and the last quarter of the year is typically when companies will release new products what I'm trying to say is that I don't physically have the stigma chroma tattoo machine in my hands for this video we are simply going to just go online together we are going to check it out and we're going to go over all the stats and statistics on it and we're going to check out some videos on Instagram because it's a new tattoo machine and people have got it and we see people tattooing with it so we're going to check that out I am always so impressed when a company can fit so much technology into a tattoo machine and the stigma chroma tattoo machine is one of those machines so let's go so we're actually going to start on the stigma website because I think it's important to look at their product catalog uh because they've been making tattoo machines for a very long time and I think it's important to just get all the details on the machine out of the way first and the website's probably the best place for that so they've made a lot of tattoo machines obviously this is not all the tattoo machines they've ever created they've created a lot more tattoo machines than just this these are the machines that they currently carry and we'll see here the thorn 2 this is actually this is actually main tattoo machine I know them for or probably the thorn one and then they came out with the thorn 2 okay so we'll see here um so it's a stroke adjustable tattoo machine this is an RCA machine is no battery included um and typically with stroke adjustable tattoo machines like this there's a swash plate on the inside they are not direct drive tattoo machines direct drive tattoo machines have the drive Bar connected directly to the motor it is direct and it's driving it's a direct drive tattoo machine where it's just you know directly hting a swash plate has a plate on the inside and that's how actually how they adjust the stroke length on it it's hard to explain how that one works cuz honestly I hardly understand how it works I just know that the plate on the inside is is connected directly to the motor and it spins and then when you adjust it here on this part you can adjust the stroke length but it is not direct drive you lose a lot of the the strength um in the swash plate machines you lose a lot of the strength that the machine is putting out in that swash plate so typic typically tattoo machines that are like this where you can adjust the stroke length on them typically tattoo machines like that are better for smooth black and gray or fine line tattooing and not so much doing bold line and color just because the tattoo machine hits softer because of the swash plate but the stigma chroma tattoo machine might have found a way around that issue of the tattoo machine hitting softly and we're going to talk about that right now so here's a really good product shot of the new chroma tattoo machine and we will see a lot of things here so this is the pro version of the machine and basically the pro version just comes with more stuff so we will come with the it will come with the carrying case you'll get the two grips the one that comes on it is the big one and then you get the small grip right there and then you'll also receive two batteries and if you look it right here you'll notice that both batteries are a different size from each other so right now with this cap on top you can fit the small battery in it or you could take that cap off the top and this is like an extender this little cap right here you can actually take that cap you could put it on the top right there and you could actually extend the space inside of the tattoo machine to where it can hold the bigger battery I just think it's funny because in a previous video I have actually stated that I think that a company should do that where that you can take the cap off and put an extender on it to have a bigger battery I have said that in a previous video and no other company has done it other than stigma I don't know if they watched the video and they got the idea for me but I appreciate it if they did because that is something that I think a lot more companies should be doing I have also stated in previous videos that I would love to have the removable cell like this tattoo machine gots where this actual like battery cell is removable but to also have a type-c port on the side and this tattoo machine is one of the first to ever do that and I was actually contacted by a lot of different uh tattoo machine engineers and everything on Instagram I got lots of messages from people saying that that is not a good idea maybe if we have an engineer that could comment Down Below on why that's not a good idea that would help inform uh me and the audience but I am told I I believe I am told that somehow that does like like the wrong current or something and it can you know backflow electricity into the battery or something damaging the battery cells or something I don't know maybe it's something like that that is basically why all companies that have the removable cells they have a little charger dock like this that you can plug the cell into to charge that is why all the companies do that instead of having a type-c port on the machine but I don't know maybe stigma actually figured out that issue of having the charger port and the removable sell maybe they figure that out maybe or maybe it's just not that big of an issue that all these other people are making it out to be maybe it just you know kills your battery quicker or something but you could obviously just buy a new battery for under five bucks anyways so I don't know the power connection is Wireless or USB C the motor is a brushless is brushless with hyperdrive and we'll talk about hyperdrive in just a second because that's a really cool feature um the voltage range is 4
5 mm which is nice and Punchy and then uh give so it says adjustable uh give with hyperdrive and I think that is with the hyperdrive I am going to look into that in just a second and I'm going to look into that a little bit more uh there's the dimensions there's the length and there's the weight so right here we see a zero on the screen I think that means no hyperdrive on when I scroll up a little bit you'll see plus two so I think there's 0er + one plus two and then if I scroll up we'll see B which I think is the boost mode so those are all your modes and I believe they are displayed right there on the display right there now I might be wrong about this but I'm pretty sure that the hyperdrive mode is essentially like a speed controller a pwm speed controller that's inside of the tattoo machine that is adjusting the amount of Watts going to the motor of your tattoo machine so you can put more watts into your machine making your tattoo machine hit stronger or you can lower the Watts going through through the motor making your tattoo machine hit softer which would get you that that egive effect because if you have less watts in your motor your needle is almost snagging in the skin more or it's in the skin longer kind of like what uh give does on your tattoo machine it leaves the needle in the skin longer so you could make your you could essentially change the mode to make your tattoo machine weaker on purpose because some people want their tattoo machines hit to hit a little bit weaker because that will give you that give feeling on your tattoo machine the engine at AIS tattoo machines are actually the first people to perfect this and they had it for a while now it's the they call it the M modes on the Aus tattoo machine and you have several different modes so you have the uh minus 3 minus 2 uh minus1 0 plus one plus two and basically these are just a bunch of different modes that change the peak watt output of your motor so basically if you are in a higher mode you have 12 Watts going to your motor and so your motor is very strong and then in the lower mode there is less Watts from your motor so your machine is very weak these AIS modes are very similar to the modes you are getting in the stigma tattoo machine huh I just noticed something the chroma also has minus three so maybe they have minus 3 -2 you know minus one 0 one two it's almost like They're copying Aus huh H I think we're going to see a lot more companies starting to copy Aus and I don't think it's a bad idea I I think Aus tattoo machines holds companies to a high bar tattoo machines to a high level and I think if people want to make good tattoo machines they're going to have to you know come up to that level also I just got the silver AIS look at that look at that thing that thing's slick I'll be making a video on this very soon the hyperdrive mode might be how they are getting the chroma tattoo machine to hit harder even though it's a swash plate style design I wonder how good that is on the you know the internals of the machine how how much that that that uh Swatch plate could handle that you know switching through all those modes and stuff putting different strength onto the motor you know onto that swash plate might you know break that swash plate I wonder if this tattoo machine if you could take it apart and that you're allowed to access the inside and to fix that SWAT plate if there's an issue because I think it's cool to have the modes but I'm just scared of the swash plate with those modes even though those modes might make having a swash plate feels so much better the chroma Pro which comes with all the accessories the case the grips and all that stuff uh is ,000 which is almost exactly $1,000 it's like $1,100 or something um uh United States dollars and that would include the chroma the standard grip the XL uh the XL battery uh cap here you'll see that you actually receive two uh 18500 battery cells which is like a standard battery that lasts about 8 hours um and that is the 2 thou oh it's a 2,250 milliamp battery sell normally you only get the let me see real quick normally with the 18500 you receive the smaller version with the 2,000 milliamps like this one this one has 2,000 milliamps wow so they're actually giving you the big 18500 with the 2,250 milliamps uh that battery is cool it just dies it just the the lifespan of that battery is less so you know a typical battery will last about a year before they start uh dying quicker uh the 18500 uh this one might you know it's going to last longer you're going to probably get 9 hours of battery life on it but it's going to uh die quicker you'll probably you'll probably notice uh depletion of battery like after half a year or something like that and then you also received the Big Daddy itself the 18650 battery with a 3,500 milliamp battery cell wow I want that I want that I want that ji I don't know why I'm talking like Forest Gump what the this tattoo machine has motion controls and we will see right here it says we've made tattooing more intuitive than ever chroma's motion control technology lets you start or stop the machine with a gentle Shake by shaking the machine or by tapping anywhere on the Pen's body tapping anywhere not pressing a button tapping on the machine or a gentle Shake I guess when you you tap the machine the machine does a little Shake anyways so I think it's just really sensitive to shakes which I don't know how I feel about that um alternatively it can be set to pause when placed on a surface and start again when you pick it up so the machine will automatically turn off when you set it down and you don't touch it and then when you pick it up it will automatically turn back on all these motion controls that they are starting to put in tattoo machines are all cool and all as long as they work very well like when I tap and shake my T I shake my tattoo machine just to get ink out of it it's a technique that I I personally do I I will dip my tattoo machine in water like that dipping it in water look it the machine is shaking so when I dip in the in the cup of water my machine is turning on and off and then I shake out the needle instead of wiping it into a paper towel I'm not here to teach you guys how to tattoo that's just what I do and so every time I do that boom boom machine on and off I'm not going to like that so obviously that that's not a mode that's going to be for me you can obviously do the other mode then so when you set it down it will turn off and then when you pick it up it will turn on and that is cool and all if it works there's a lot of companies that think that their modes like that works and they do not when you hold the machine sideways you're tattooing a thigh or something sideways and you you're on a nice precise line with three liner so you're very still so the machine you know can't sense that you're moving really cuz it's all still pulling that three line right on the side of that thigh and then your machine shuts off in the middle of a line and I'm not saying that this machine does that but I'm just saying a lot of the motion controls people are not good at tuning them companies have to get better at tuning the motion controls memory presets uh the machine has up to five different presets um that will save your speed and hyperdrive profiles nice they have a wireless foot switch on their website that you can connect Bluetooth wise to your machine and there's a left-handed mode that will rotate your uh screen so it is better for left-handed people one of the homies that watches the show his name is Anthony he actually he reached out to me he told me I could use this footage uh for this video um but you guys can go over there I'll leave a link to his Instagram down in the video description so you guys could go give him a follow uh it's always nice when people are a fan of the show and they reach out and they try to talk to me I appreciate all you guys very much right here Anthony's reals and yep he got one so he's actually did a review of the sigma chroma and I believe he's from hold up I think he's from like France or something so he does not speak English or he speaks English but he did not speak English in this video honestly guys I did not watch this whole video yet so who knows this is actually going to be me reacting first time to seeing the stigma chroma tattoo machine in somebody's hands I'm not even kidding this is the first time let's see it that is totally [Music] French if it's not French I feel bad the French dude like beautiful language you guys speak if it is French I know it's not German because German's like German's German sounds like they're yelling at you so it has to I think it has to be French French is like a beautiful voice German is like an angry voice kind of open it brother open oh he actually did open it he heard me wow the machine is actually very pretty very pretty machine hopefully it's not copyright music I don't know if we should pause it I'm just going to leave it paused so there's the battery cell it it comes with the big battery cell wow look at that the tattoo machine looks very long if you have the big battery cell in but for somebody like me I do like 10hour tattoos some days I might want to rock the big battery soell um there's the small grip there's the big grip the more the further I get through making this video the honestly the more I like this tattoo machine and I don't know if stigma reached out to me if they reach out to me I don't remember um but stigma if you're watching this video up to this point please send me this tattoo machine because it's looking pretty slick dude I'm surprised it comes with three batteries comes with two of the regular size batteries honestly the regular battery might be fine though but because it's the you know whatever the 2560 milliamp or whatever um they don't last as long so they quicker they don't last as long like throughout the year so they'll die like halfway throughout the year they'll start like not being able to hold a charge there's a good look at the screen right there with the type-c port like right in the middle of the display like I guess like think about this Here's a thought if if you're wiping this down with mde what happens if mde Gets behind the display through that Port I'm sure there could be like a ceiling like a seal issue with that I don't know I'm trying to make issues now that probably don't exist I'm sure they did that right um I just don't know how I feel about it yet it looks really hard to twist like it seems like it's very very tight like switching between the stroke lengths which is probably good you might want to just set it where you want it and leave it you might not want to just switch throughout your uh session but it looked like he was like you know it looked pretty tight maybe it's just tight at the beginning and then it LO loosens up that's what she said OLED display I'm assuming oh and there's an S Mode so I don't even know what I was talking about earlier oh wow so you can change it between the increments between 0
