Here are some of the recipes featured in today's video. VENISON CHILI (I always double this) 1 lb. ground venison or beef 1 qt. tomato juice 1 can tomato soup 1 can kidney beans with liquid water to rinse cans 2 beef bouillon cubes dash Worcestershire sauce 2 T. chili powder 1 tsp. cumin 1/3 c. ketchup 1 c. macaroni, cooked al dente Brown meat, season with salt and pepper. Boil macaroni until cooked; drain and set aside. Mix all remaining ingredients into browned meat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and add macaroni. That's it!! It will thicken overnight as the noodles soak up some of the liquid. BRUSCHETTA CHICKEN Magnolia Table volume 2 https://amzn.to/45QtEP2 PEPPER JACK POTATOES 6 medium potatoes, peeled (optional) and cut into 1/4 inch slices 1 medium onion, sliced 3 T. melted butter 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. chili powder 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper 1/8 tsp. pepper 2 1/2 c. shredded pepper jack or Monterey Jack cheese, divided (slices work fine, too) Place half the potatoes and onions in a greased 9x13 baking dish. Combine seasonings and butter. Brush half over the vegetables. Sprinkle with half of the cheese. Make one more layer with remaining potatoes, onions, and butter. Cover and bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes (check potatoes and bake longer if needed). Uncover and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake 5 more minutes until cheese is melted. BAKERY SUGAR COOKIES 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. vegetable shortening 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 1/2 c. white sugar 1 T. corn syrup 1 T. vanilla 1 large egg 1 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 3 1/2 c. flour Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream butter, shortening and both sugars until light and fluffy. Add corn syrup, vanilla and egg. Stir well. Sprinkle in soda, powder and salt. Stir well. Then add in flour and mix until dough comes together. This will be dry. Make balls of dough a little bigger than 1 inch. Flatten slightly and sprinkle with colored sugar or jimmies before baking for 8-9 minutes. If your cookies are on the small size bake less time so they stay chewy. Remove from pan immediately if you prefer chewy cookies. Leave on pan to cool for a minute or so if you want crisper cookies. My cookbooks are available for purchase.
