Just because I'm a country mom doesn't mean I don't like make up and today I'm sharing my go to summer "no make up" make up look. I've found Merit Beauty to be great make up especially for my dry, aging skin. It adds a nice amount of moisture and a nice dewy look to my face. You can try out Merit Beauty here https://muse.meritbeauty.com/jennifer54p {affiliate link - thank you} L'Oreal Lash Paradise mascara https://amzn.to/46okGKQ Burt's Bees Peony https://amzn.to/3Tl3gqQ Face shaver https://amzn.to/3TlTTqV (similar to mine) Earth Breeze laundry sheets The keyboard warriors came out strong in my recent video when I said, "I don't want to buy anything for my chickens if I don't have to." I have a few thoughts on this and share them with you all in this video. Oven Fried Chicken 1 cup flour 2 tsp. paprika 1/2 tsp. pepper 2 tsp. salt Dredge chicken pieces in seasoned flour and bake in melted butter pan, skin side down at 400 for 30 minutes. Turn skin side up and bake 30-35 minutes more or until meat thermometer reaches 180. Cream Filled Chocolate Cake 1 chocolate box mix made according to package, but in a jelly roll pan (10x15) Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Filling: Bring to a boil 5 T. flour and 1 1/4 c. milk for about 2 minutes until really thick. Cool in refrigerator. Then whip 1/2 c. butter and 1/2 c. shortening until light and creamy. Mix in 1 c. sugar and a pinch of salt. Then add flour mixture and beat 4-5 minutes scraping occasionally until very fluffy and creamy. Spread over cooled cake. Frosting: Beat 1/2 c. soft butter until light and creamy. Add 1/4 c. baking cocoa, 1 tsp. vanilla and stir until well mixed. Add in 3 c. powdered sugar and beat well. Mix in 4-5 Tbsp. hot water until frosting is easily spreadable. Spread over cream layer and refrigerate cake until ready to serve. This definitely can feed a crowd and it's very impressive with the layers. Cranberry Fluff 1 lb. cranberries, ground 1 lb. mini marshmallows 1 can crushed pineapple, well drained 2 c. sugar (or a little less is fine, too) 1 c. whipping cream, whipped to stiff peaks Combine cranberries and sugar, let stand for several hours. Pour off extra juice. The juice can be mixed with the pineapple juice and made into a spritzer with sparkling water, club soda or Sprite/7-up. Mix in marshmallows and pineapple. Then fold in whipped cream. I do not sweeten the cream because this is already sweet enough. This holds up well for about 48 hours. It's also good with added chopped apples and chopped nuts.
