As mentioned in previous videos, I'm currently studying my Masters through the University of Pretoria (UP). This excerpt of our conversation was about discussing how the university has structured their Masters programme and why. If you're considering studying further, this is an interesting thing to consider. One of the concepts we discuss is the difference between a Masters focussed on 'subjects' as opposed to 'research'. This is interesting and I wasn't actually aware of this before I started looking into studying further. Depending on your objective with your Masters, you may find programmes that focus on the subject (eg: You'll be focussing on learning Accounting), whereas UP's programme is designed to focus on research skills as opposed to subject matter. This is quite a significant difference... and should be considered when you're thinking of what you want. Take a look... keep it in mind for your own thinking...
